Meet the FSA.

David Fry

President

David started working for the family business in 2003, as National Sales Manager, a role in which he travels the length and breadth of the UK, meeting funeral directors and establishing, building and maintaining relationships with businesses of all sizes.

David’s late cousin, Bill Fry, is a former Chairman of the FFMA, and by becoming involved in the FSA on a national level David is following in his footsteps and is honoured to have been elected as Second Vice President.

David lives in Coventry with his fiancee Lisa, loves spending time with his grandaughter and is a keen Leicester Tigers fan,

Brian Hart

Vice President

Brian founded SAIFInsure in 1994 working with SAIF in establishing their own insurance scheme for member firms.

In addition to working with SAIF, Brian has also engaged with fellow suppliers and attended many NFEs over the years so got to know many of the businesses and people that go to make up this very special trade.

Unicorn I B Ltd is the parent entity of SAIFInsure and Brian has been actively engaged in insurance since 1979 formerly as an Underwriter and since the late 1980s as a broker. This work has entailed many trades and professions ranging from Global Pharmaceutical businesses with clinical trials covers across the world and Medical Instruments through to one of the world’s largest Leisure Operators and Swedish Boatyards and Airports so there is really very little that he cannot insure!

For his sins, he is an Arsenal supporter and is probably happiest whilst walking up a mountain or two whatever the weather as long as there is a pub at the top or bottom!

He is looking forward to serving the interests of the FSA members firms and raising the profile within the profession.

Carolyn Day

Second Vice President

Carolyn Day is the co-founder and Director of the Greener Globe Funeral Standard (GGFS), the UK’s first and only environmental accreditation scheme tailored specifically for the entire funeral sector. With a career spanning over 30 years in commercial insurance, Carolyn developed a deep understanding of business operations. In addition, in the landscape of financial regulation, her ability to interpret complex guidance from the Financial Conduct Authority and apply it to a smaller brokerage made her an ideal candidate to create and introduce policies and procedures. Driven by a lifelong appreciation for nature
and a desire to protect the planet for future generations, Carolyn transitioned from the
insurance industry to environmental advocacy within the funeral sector. She completed the ISO 14001:2015 Internal Auditor Course, equipping her with the tools to support burial grounds, cemeteries, funeral directors, crematoria, and sector suppliers, including FSA members, in adopting sustainable practices.

Carolyn’s work at GGFS reflects her commitment to inclusivity and progress. She believes that environmental responsibility should be accessible to all funeral businesses, regardless of size or resources. Through GGFS, she helps organisations complete their sustainability audits, generating bespoke improvement plans for them to follow, and recognising the efforts they have already made. No one in the sector should be left behind in the journey toward greener operations. Together with her husband and co-founder, Brendan Day, Carolyn has helped GGFS expand its reach across the UK, Ireland, and the Netherlands. Her work continues to inspire a growing movement within the funeral industry – one that balances compassionate service with environmental stewardship.

Jade Wilcox

Immediate Past President

Daughter of Paul Wilcox and granddaughter of the company founders Bill & May Wilcox is Managing Director of the 70 year old automotive coachbuilding business, Wilcox Limousines.

“It’s a privilege and honour to be part of the family team managing the business, this is an industry I’ve grown up around my whole life. I’ve enjoyed in the past being a funeral director giving me a greater understanding of our customers’ requirements. We’re investing heavily in training and development, focusing on diversity and different understandings and perspectives.”

Jade lives in Oxfordshire and when not working is busy raising 3 children with her husband Tatum. “Juggling family life whilst running a business is always going to be a delicate balance, however I’m lucky enough to do this with my family, including my father and sister, and many of our employees are like family”

Alun Tucker

Chief Executive

Funeral Suppliers’ Association is headed by Alun Tucker, a funeral professional with over 50 years’ experience.

With a proven track record in business management at a senior level, Alun has served as President of the National Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors on two occasions.

Alun was appointed Chief Executive of the Funeral Furnishing Manufacturers’ Association (FFMA) in October 2018, where he is responsible for the day-to-day running of the organisation, including managing its finances, administering the Coffin and Casket Certification scheme and keeping members up-to-date with the association’s work, to name but a few areas of focus.

Due the wide variety of services provided by its members Alun has overseen the rebrand from FFMA to Funeral Suppliers’ Association (FSA) and looks forward to developing the work of the FSA.
